●    Ruler Sans, Experimental Typeface (2024)

Ruler Sans draws inspiration from a stencil-based printing method popular in the 1950s–60s and the mimeograph typographic style that emerged from it. This technique required writing forcefully with a steel nib onto a stencil sheet, carving the forms into its surface. The physical constraints of the tools resulted in letterforms characterized by straight horizontal and vertical strokes and a pronounced geometric quality. Ruler Sans is not a revival of a traditional typeface, but an experimental exploration informed by that historical process.
